ESV Study Bible

I'm continuing to enjoy reading through the ESV Study Bible, at a s l o w pace.

I've now completed
Genesis
Exodus
Leviticus
Ruth
Esther
Job
Proverbs
Song of Songs
Lamentations
Joel
Amos
Obadiah
Jonah
Nahum
Habakkuk
Haggai

in the Old Testament

and

Luke
1 Corinthians
Ephesians
1 and 2 Thessalonians
Philemon
1 and 2 Peter
John's letters
Jude

in the New Testament.

I've read the first two books of Psalms and am currently reading through Acts and am enjoying John Polhill's notes and introduction very much.

But I've also just purchased a copy of Eugene Peterson's The Message which I hope to read through quickly after completing this project in maybe 2011.

We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful resources available to help us come to grips with God's Word and to be gripped by it.

Hi David,

Your reflections on Bible reading are so refreshing. It's great to come on to 'Gontroppo's Blog' and read about someone really ENJOYING the Scriptures in their varied translations, without critical comment.

Just wondering from a previous post of yours about the TNIV etc if you ever did get to read right through the Jerusalem Bible?

God bless you as refresh yourself in His Word, and as you refresh us by sharing your enthusiasm and discoveries.

Andrew
